Apply NH Day
The School Counseling Department is pleased to announce that Merrimack High School has once again been selected to participate in Apply NH, New Hampshire's branch of the American College Application Campaign (ACAC) — a national effort designed to help high school seniors navigate the college admissions process and increase the number of students who successfully submit college applications.

Apply NH is hosted at more than 70 high schools across the state and supports New Hampshire's goal of encouraging all students to explore and pursue post-secondary education and career opportunities. By providing direct access to college and career professionals, the campaign empowers students to confidently complete applications and take the next step toward their future goals. While the program places special emphasis on supporting first-generation college students, all seniors are welcome to participate—regardless of their future plans.

📅 Event Date: Wednesday, November 12th 📍 Location: Merrimack High School School Counseling Office

During the event, participating colleges and universities will waive application fees, and each student who submits at least one college application will be entered for a chance to win a $500 scholarship.

Students are encouraged to contact the Counseling Office to schedule an appointment with one of the college or career representatives who will be on-site to assist with applications and resumes.

Advanced Studies Program Information
A representative from St. Paul's Advanced Studies Program will be visiting Merrimack on Thursday October 30th from 9-10:30 in the Counseling Office. They are looking to speak with our top sophomores and juniors.

The Advanced Studies Program is committed to educating the whole person and preparing students to make contributions to a changing and challenging world. ASP defines education as all of the structured experiences in which students participate: course work, recreational activities, and residential life. These opportunities involve valuable interaction between faculty, interns, house advisers, and students.

The ASP allows intensive study in two subjects – the Writing Workshop taken by every student, and an elective major course. Both subjects are studied with a level of focus not possible during the busy school year. The material, pace, and depth of study are collegiate. To foster healthy risk-taking and manage college-level workloads, no grades are given. For many students, the ASP will be the first learning environment in which it's cool to be smart and to care about academic inquiry. It can also be the first time students will be truly pushed by their peers.

Please sign up in the counseling office before Thursday.

The National Arts Honor Society's first meeting is Tuesday, October 28th right after school in room 116. See Ms. Edwards with questions.
